CYBER RISKERS TALK SHOW

Welcome to the new year Cyber Riskers; you're in for a treat.

 

The Program:

6pm: Welcome address by Cyber Risk Meetup Founder

6.30pm: 'The Elephant and the Mouse: What were they thinking?'

This keynote by counter espionage expert and behavioural scientist, Julian Claxton will discuss the psychological profile of insider threat case studies and the top six behavioural indicators of malintent.

7pm: Talk show begins - a lineup of speakers coming to the front to pitch their ideas in a TED talk-style format.

 

The theme is: The state of the Human Factor; what was, what is, and what is to become.

Speaker lineup for the State of the Human Factor includes:

'People - the Center of Change' by Zeynep Soylu, Group Assurance and Audit Manager, Lion

'Three Principles in Business Engagement' by Andrew Wheeler, Head of Information Security & IT Compliance, BAI Communications

'Key Management Tips for Great Leaders' by Amit Chaubey, Cyber Security Risk, Governance & Compliance Manager, Ausgrid 

 

Audience are encouraged to participate, ask questions and give feedback.

For a cause:

This time, we are doing things differently. Donations will be collected in the form of tickets. All proceeds will be going to NSW Rural Fire Service and the brave firefighters who have been working valiantly to put out the catastrophic blazes since November 2019.

 

Anyone who has made a donation from A$25 or more will be able to attend this event in Sydney. International or global supporters are also welcomed to contribute and join via the web as the show will be broadcasted and recorded so that you won't miss out too!

Julian Claxton is a Behavioural Scientist with specific expertise in the provision of strategic security, counterespionage and technical surveillance countermeasures (TSCM) services. His primary area of interest is in researching verbal and non-verbal indicators of deception, with a focus on identifying deceptive behaviour amongst trusted insiders. Professionally, Julian runs a successful counterespionage consulting practice providing TSCM and Insider Threat Management support (Jayde Consulting Pty Ltd). He is a seasoned company director, board advisor, and global traveller with extensive consulting experience within government and corporate sector environments.

Julian sits on the Board of the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers and is a Founding Member of the Technical Surveillance Countermeasures Institute in London. Furthermore, he is a long-term member of American based ASIS International and the Espionage Research Institute International. Julian has a Master’s Degree (MSc.) in Communication, Behaviour and Credibility Analysis, a Postgraduate Diploma in Behavioural Analysis and Investigative Interviewing, a Diploma in Security Risk Management, and CPD qualifications in the Linguistics of Interpersonal Communication. He also holds various certificates in security, investigations, and technical surveillance countermeasures.

Andrew Wheeler is a 25 year veteran of information technology who is passionate about the human side of cyber-security. As the Head of Information Security at BAI Communications, Andrew governs information security for businesses in Australia, the USA, the UK, Canada, and Hong Kong. Andrew regularly undertakes speaking tours advocating âpracticalâ cyber-security and has several publications in the fields of pattern languages and business orchestration.

Zeynep Soylu is an experienced audit and risk leader, with 15+ years of experience in industries like Banking, Insurance, FMCG and Pharmaceutical within corporate, regional and multi-country roles. In her most recent roles in Australia, she had transformed risk capabilities and maturity in the organizations while supporting their journey on change and process excellence. She had been the leader or change catalyst in over 30 finance and business transformation projects, mergers/ acquisitions and divestments. She is leading Audit and Assurance team at Lion today which is currently expanding its global footprint on 10+ countries.

 

Zeynep is passionate about change and excellence; thus continuously challenges the existing methodologies with the evolving needs of the organizations. She is current member of professional bodies like IIA, PMI, ACFE and many more and is a Membership & Volunteer Experience Director at ISACA Sydney Chapter.

 

 

 

Amit Chaubey is a seasoned IT & Cyber Risk professional spanning a career managing the Risk across Asia Pacific. Amit currently work as Cyber Security Risk, Governance & Compliance Manager for Ausgrid covering both ICT & OT Cyber Security. Amit has over 20 years of experience across multiple geography including India, Japan & Singapore including 12 years in IT risk management across Asia Pacific managing nearly 14 Asia countries operations. Amit has extensive experience of managing IT risk in financial sector and has worked with Citibank & JP Morgan chase covering APAC operations based out from Singapore. Amit has also been accredited by Australian Computer Society (ACS) as Certified Cyber Professional (CP) and hold CRISC, ITIL, ISO27001 Auditor certification. Amit has volunteered to be a Committee member because he wanted to contribute to the industry, expand and continuously update his knowledge of cyber security, privacy and regulations, and also to grow his professional network.
